The SMU Law Review Association sponsors three symposia annually.

The Corporate Counsel Symposium brings together general counsel and attorneys from companies nationwide. The one-day symposium joins in-house and outside counsel together with judges and regulatory agencies for a survey of legal developments and best practices. Our 25th Anniversary Corporate Counsel Symposium in October 2017 featured panel discussions addressing timely legal issues including corporate social responsibility, blockchain transactions, institutional shareholder interfacing, and executive compensation.

The Corporate Director's Institute delves into corporate legal concerns through the lense of in-house counsel and corporate directors. The evening attracts practicioners and scholars alike, presenting a wonderful chance to hear esteemed speakers and network with industry figures. The symposium is held in the early spring each year.

The SMU Air Law Symposium, sponsored by the Journal of Air Law and Commerce, is the oldest and largest annual aviation law symposium in the world. Recent events that have changed our aviation landscape are sure to add to the discussion, debate, and education at the Symposium. Each spring, more than 500 aviation lawyers and industry representatives annually attend. The symposium offers continuing education credit, superb networking opportunities, and the exploration of a wide variety of aviation law topics.
